Provost's Breach of Protocols

Re: Senate Resolution on the Structure and Process of the
Search Committee for the Dean of the School of Art & Design


Upon a motion duly made and seconded, the Academic Senate resolved as follows:

WHEREAS, Senate Bylaws provide the Senate with responsibilities including, but not limited to, formulating the structure and procedures of search committees, and appointing faculty and chair membership; therefore, this 18th day of November, 2008, be it

RESOLVED, That the Academic Senate note its objection that the Senate was not consulted and was not informed in a timely manner regarding the search committee for the Dean of the School of Art and Design; and it is further

RESOLVED, That the Academic Senate demand that this breach of protocol is not precedent-setting.
